Masterclass notes

Stress fractures, often referred to as “fatigue fractures,” result from the repeated application of submaximal mechanical loads to bone. Unlike an acute traumatic fracture, a stress fracture develops progressively when the bone’s adaptive capacity is exceeded. Bone remodeling can no longer keep pace with mechanical demand: micro-damage accumulates, leading to true structural fatigue.
