Description

Stand with your back to the anchor point of a resistance band, holding it in the hand on the side you want to work. Step forward enough to create tension when your arm is raised overhead in a comfortable position. From this posture, push the band forward, then slowly control the return, coming back as far as possible without pain. Gradually try to increase the range of motion if it remains tolerable. Throughout the exercise, keep your shoulder down and away from your ear, while keeping your arm close to it. You can adjust the speed of the movement over time, but remember to confirm these changes with your physical therapist.
