Description
Stand up, step your feet wide apart, and point your front foot forward, with your back foot slightly turned out. Engage your legs and shift your pelvis back while leaning your torso over your front leg, without trying to go lower at all costs, then rest your hand on your shin, a block, or the floor, depending on your mobility, keeping length in your trunk. Keep both legs straight and engaged, your pelvis open to the side, and reach your top arm overhead while externally rotating your shoulder. Aim to open your rib cage without compressing your lower back, and keep your neck long and your gaze toward the floor, to the side, or upward, depending on what is comfortable for your neck. Keep your breathing calm, aiming for both stability and expansion, then return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
