Description
Sit on a bench or chair facing a wall, with your knees slightly apart so you can bring your torso closer to the wall. Place your forearms and hands against the wall, then raise your arms above your head to form a V shape. In this position, bring your sternum closer to the wall to create an extension in your upper back. Take a breath in, then, as you breathe out, try to slightly lift your hands off the wall while keeping your sternum close to the wall and your torso in the same position. Hold this position for the length of time indicated by your physical therapist, then gently relax. Perform the movement slowly and without compensating.
