Description
Stand on flat, open ground, with your feet slightly staggered, your weight on your forefoot, and your torso leaning forward. Accelerate progressively over the first few yards, pushing hard into the ground, then straighten your torso as your speed increases until you reach your target speed. Aim for a dynamic stride with a full extension of the hip and knee at push-off, an active knee drive forward, and brief foot contacts on your forefoot. Keep your trunk braced, your shoulders relaxed, your arm action big and in line, and your gaze far ahead of you. Perform the distance and number of repetitions indicated by your physical therapist, respecting the recovery times between sprints.
