Description
Stand up, shift your weight onto the standing leg and lean your torso forward, allowing the back leg to lift in line with the pelvis. Place your hand on the floor or on a block under your shoulder depending on your mobility, keeping the standing foot active and stable, with the knee allowed to stay slightly bent depending on your control. Gradually open the pelvis to the side, keep the back leg active, the foot either flexed or relaxed depending on your intention, and raise the top arm toward the sky, as high as your range of motion allows. Open the chest without collapsing, keep the neck long and your gaze toward the floor, to the side, or upward, depending on what feels comfortable for your neck. Maintain a calm breath, seeking stability, openness, and control at the same time, then come back and repeat on the other side.
