Description

Start by getting into a forward lunge position, bending your knees, with the affected foot placed on an unstable surface such as a cushion or pillow. Keep the healthy foot balanced on its tip and aligned with the front foot at the back. Pass a light weight, like a filled bottle, between your legs, then extend your arms to the sides to maintain balance. Hold this position for the duration indicated by your physical therapist. Then, pass the weight back to the other side by moving it between your legs and repeat the exercise.
